"NO (REAL) BREAK FOR YOU NOW"
No break for you now,
‘though it seems unfair somehow
You have to keep on working,
no matter how exhausting
Others with less or zero effort
seem to earn more
including those open doors
lots on silver platters
For you, no break
It doesn’t matter your heart aches
Hunger can drive you crazy
Anger might turn you into a killing spree
Somebody’s taken away your rights
You’ve had it with the same old fight
They’ve moved on with something new
as if they’ve never harmed you
It doesn’t matter
No, not anymore
Perhaps they’ve been right about being (too) nice
The repay is often cold as ice
Why put up with too many lies?
So, there’s no break for you now
It doesn’t matter you’re sick
Who really gives a damn about you?
Sometimes, hopefully not too damn often,
a cry for help gets ignored
So what’s the bloody point?
