Freedom of Persephone
The devil has come to take me away
Not even looking at the leaves’ sway
As now I swear that they will be bare
Leaving the light to the nightly mare
Hades takes me away to his dearly home
Hoping that I will live in a dome
With gold and rings and beautiful things
But caged away with the food he brings
Freedom is freeing and caging is bad
But there are the stories that each of us had
Where we caged our souls
For another one’s goals.
